Digitally Printed Clothing on the Rise

Silkscreen and Embroidery have led the market for years in terms of imprinting or printing on garments.  But today I come showing you the newest trend – and a bit of proof to back it up.  According to a new report by Global Industry Analysts there are may advancements in printing techniques driving growth in the Global Textile Market.

The entire textile industry is gearing away from dyed fabric and going with printed clothing – here are a few examples:

Screen printing still represents the largest sector of printing on garments, but these new advancements in digital technology are making heads turn at fashion shows around the country.  This new avenue allows for highly creative and unique prints – giving designers the ability to create truly custom clothing.

Some of the technology advancements are eco friendly because of less dyes and water usage during produciton.  They also allow for shorter runs, and much lower minimums.

Many big names are now servicing this market – AGFA, Fisher Textiles, and Mimaki to name a few.
